The answer to that is not so easy to come by as there are a few different factors to consider.
First of all, does your local Walmart have any job openings?
Does Walmart have a job that is compatible with your abilities and background?
Are you flexible in your hours so you can accommodate Walmart as an employee?
Do you have transportation to get to your Walmart job?
Odds are that Walmart has some openings with your geographic region as they are a huge company and many people take a job at Walmart as a temporary measure so there is going to be some turnover. Going to a website that has a Walmart online job application will give you an idea as to what is available.
Whether Walmart has a job that fits your skill set is not really that important as they have been known to train someone that has a desire to learn and an interest in working with them.
Oftentimes, a major retailer like Walmart, Kohl’s, Bed Bath and Beyond, Tuesday Morning and others will do their best to work with you in scheduling. Considering that a major part of the employees there are part time and work in order to supplement their household income, they understand that you may not be available at certain times and with their large workforce can usually work something out.
The transportation thing can be an issue if you have no vehicle and if there is no public transportation. One thing to consider though is a bicycle of some sort if you have no public transportation and if you can’t afford a car. Bikes use no fuel, require no insurance, rarely break down and are pretty inexpensive. One other thought for transportation would be an electric bike… they can be bought for under 400.00 and make it easier if you are not in the kind of physical shape required to ride a regular bike.
